When we visited Montezuma's Well, I hiked up the hill and down to the bottom of the well.
It was a hot day and my wife decided to stay under a shade tree in the parking lot.
Upon my return, she pointed out this lizard on a low branch of the tree (at about eye level).

This smaller desert spiny lizard showed up living in our back yard this spring.
