This is a Common Collared Lizard, one of four species of collard lizard most herpetologists
recognize in Arizona. This is a new species of lizard for me to find on our property. I was
looking out the window doing one of my frequent 'critter checks' (one never knows what one will
find) when I saw this on on the rock. From a distance, I could tell it wasn't a gecko or whiptail,
so I went out to have a look.
