In our four years living here in AZ, we've run across jackrabbits mostly when we have
been out walking. They are very skittish creatures, and usually get up and run long before we
get very close to them. They tend to run a long ways before stoping. The last few weeks, we've
seen more of them, sometimes three to four together, and they have been in our yard more
frequently. A couple of days ago, I was surprised when I opened the blinds in our breakfast
nook and saw this jackrabbit outside the window. He seemed to be just waking up and my
opening the blinds and being in the window didn't startle him, which was unusual. That gave me
time to get my camera and finally get some decent pictures of a jackrabbit. All the earlier ones
were not close enough to get really good pictures.
